21st Century Skills Course
The Framework for 21st Century Learning has been applied to the US Department of Education’s Employability Framework and the US Department of Labor’s Competency Model Clearing House to create a training program to help develop the twelve most important skills needed for success in the 21st Century: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving, Creativity & Innovation, Information Literacy, Media Literacy, Technology Literacy, Flexibility & Adaptability, Initiative & Self-Direction, Social & Cross-Cultural Skills, Productivity & Accountability, Leadership & Responsibility. To be successful at work and in life research has shown that these twelve specific 21st Century Skills are needed. In this course you will practice and develop these 12 skills. The self-paced modules include videos, texts, articles, and Harvard Business Review studies to explore these 21st Century skills from multiple perspectives and then to answer questions about them in order to develop a deeper understanding of these skills. This course is accredited by Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

ESL Global’s Higher Order Thinking Skills, or HOTS, course is a ten-hour online course. You will learn about Skills as a part of the teaching curriculum, more about Higher Order Thinking Skills, the history and uses of Bloom’s Taxonomy, gain practical experience in developing HOTS questions, and discover a number of strategies and activities that support learning HOTS.
This course is for all teachers. Higher Order Thinking Skills, HOTS are relevant for all curricula and for teachers of students at all educational levels and with all abilities. Learning HOTS are not restricted to math and science, or languages.
